Mark Auchincloss (Content Manager & Tour Escort)

Mark Auchincloss

I´m Mark from Scotland but I´ve lived in Baiona, Galicia for over 7 years and have been visiting Galicia since 1994. Apart from managing the content and guiding for EATour I run a business called English Resource Centre (Centro de Recursos de Inglés) located in Baiona.

I enjoy taking groups on gastronomic tours in the Old Town of Vigo and Baiona, local wineries, to a cookery school and walking on the Portuguese Way. In the past I have guided for other tour operators  taking groups from Sarria, Ourense and Baiona to Santiago de Compostela on walking-style holidays as well as helping to write the notes and guidance for clients. I also make films of the Caminos de Santiago.

I´m also a local tourism expert in Galicia, Spain, having written over 1000 pages of content for My Guide Galicia , a leading English speaking travel website & social media platform. I am also a Gastronomic Blogger for Galicia Gastro, a group of Galician Bloggers having been a judge at numerous tapas competitions throughout Galicia as well as promoting gastronomic events, winery visits, inaugurations etc.

In the past I have taught English on a part time basis for an English School in Vigo. I was a Director and major shareholder in a leading national town planning consultancy, Tetlow King Planning in Bristol, England. I was a chartered town planner, I´m a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and Chartered Geographer. I also have other business interests in the banking investment and wine/food industry.

Everything about wine fascinates me and I even help out a local winery in the D.O. Rias Baixas Angel Sequeiros Winery with their English business contacts including sales.

It would be my pleasure to discuss about Galicia and the fine Gastronomy and Wines it has to offer!
