On Easter Sunday the Aguardiente Festival was created in order to exalt this famous liquor. The brandy is also the main ingredient of the most representative drink in Galicia: the queimada.
As for Anguilla, the best Anguilla empanadas are made here. While some people use puff pastry to make it, the typical thing is to use bread dough. In Portomarín, the Caneiros technique is used to fish this fish. Typical technique of controlled eel fishing that consists of installing a kind of cages where the eels are protected from currents. This technique has been in disuse since the construction of the dam.
